Randstad is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Cable Shop Technician to join our client’s manufacturing team! In this role, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality electrical wire harnesses used in various electronic applications.  The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and collaborates effectively with team members to uphold rigorous production standards.  Key Responsibilities Precision Assembly: Build and assemble wire harnesses according to technical specifications, blueprints, wire lists, parts lists, and Bills of Materials (BOM).  Tool Operation: Cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and solder wires safely and efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment.  Quality Control: Conduct ongoing quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure compliance with company standards.  Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, communicating them appropriately to supervisors or team leads.  Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.  Position Requirements Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in wire harness or cable assembly within a factory or manufacturing environment.  Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.  Mechanical Aptitude: strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in utilizing diverse hand and power tools.  Pace & Detail: Ability to excel in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.  Communication: strong verbal and written communication skills.  Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move manufacturing materials as required.  Preferred Qualifications (Pluses) Forklift operation experience.  Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards

Responsibilities

1. Precision Wire Harness Assembly

• Build Complex Units: Assemble high-quality electrical wire harnesses customized for various electronic applications.
  
  
• Follow Technical Specs: Read, interpret, and work directly from blueprints, schematics, wire lists, parts lists, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  
  

2. Specialized Tool & Equipment Operation

• Wire Processing: Safely cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and solder wires with high precision.
  
  
• Tool Mastery: Efficiently operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  
  

3. Quality Assurance & Standards

• In-Process Inspection: Perform continuous quality control checks throughout every stage of assembly to ensure products meet company quality standards.
  
  
• Compliance: Align work with industry specifications (such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards).
  
  

4. Troubleshooting & Escalation

• Identify Defects: Detect assembly flaws, misconfigurations, or component issues promptly.
  
  
• Communication: Work collaboratively with team leads and supervisors to resolve technical issues and keep production moving smoothly.
  
  

5. Shop Safety & Material Handling

• Workstation Maintenance: Keep a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace in a fast-paced factory environment.
  
  
• Material Transport: Lift and move manufacturing materials across the floor as needed (with potential forklift operation depending on shop needs).
