Responsibilities
- Review the manufacturing plan and determine if it is most appropriate utilization of capital equipment.
- With the setup leads, allocate personnel against the production plan and determine if the plan is achievable.
- Optimize the utilization of all labor resources.
- Negotiate with planning to produce an achievable plan if the plan is not reasonable.
- Ensure that the necessary materials, tools, documents, etc. are available for each activity in the production plan and show up at the right place at the right time.
- With the setup leads, monitor the performance of each operating production activity or job.
- Intervene with those jobs when appropriate to bring them back to production standards.
- Escalate production issues to Engineering and Sr. Management when solutions to these issues are not within reasonable reach of production personnel expertise.
- Review the performance of production staff, both direct and indirect, and provide feedback to these personnel.
- Provide guidance for setup leads with respect to the evaluation of the performance of and feedback to, their direct staff.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a CNC machine shop setting.
- Extensive experience setting up CNC machine tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T callouts.
- Experience using CAD software for the analysis and measurement of solid models.
- Experience using CAM software for the review of manufacturing processes.
