Responsibilities
- Through-Hole Soldering: Assemble, insert, and solder through-hole components (resistors, capacitors, connectors, ICs) onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using manual soldering irons and solder pots, following IPC-A-610 standards.
- Surface-Mount (SMD/SMT) Soldering: Perform hand soldering, placement, alignment, and touch-up of fine-pitch surface-mount components (0402, QFP, SOIC, BGA) using micro-soldering equipment, hot-air rework stations, and microscopes.
- Component Preparation & Inspection: Prep components (lead forming, trimming, tinning) prior to assembly, and perform visual quality inspections under magnification to identify cold solder joints, bridging, misalignment, or missing parts.
- Rework & Modification: Perform board-level repair, desoldering, component replacement, and engineering change order (ECO) wiring/jumper modifications without damaging sensitive trace lines or pads.
- Assembly & Documentation: Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to assemble electronic sub-assemblies and final enclosures, adhering to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety protocols.
