Responsibilities
- Assist the Shipping Coordinator with all aspects of the shipping process.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments in accordance with best commercial practices, customer requirements, and applicable MIL-STD packaging requirements.
- Assist with MIL-STD 129R and other military packaging and labeling requirements.
- Prepare shipping labels, documentation, dispatches, and other required shipping records.
- Work with shipping and packaging systems, including MIL-PAC labeling systems.
- Schedule shipments and coordinate logistics with carriers, vendors, and customers.
- Track incoming and outgoing shipments and provide updates to applicable departments, including Contracts and Purchasing.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipping and logistics requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including weights, dimensions, photographs, shipping documentation, and other required information.
- Manage and maintain inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.
- Load and unload parts, materials, and packages using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when qualified.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shipping and receiving work environment.
- Assist the department with other shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics activities as needed.
