Major Job Duties and Responsibilities -  Lab tech is responsible for routine sediment analysis and tests on submitted or self-collected samples of parts or substances related to the manufacturing process.  Lab tech must have the ability to work without constant supervision.  Lab tech will maintain and conform to all safety and other related issues as it pertains to the burden carrier.  Lab tech will act in a professional manner when dealing with GM team members and engineering as they perform responsibilities both inside and outside the lab environment  Lab tech will be required to maintain housekeeping standards within the lab.  Lab tech must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.  Lab tech must have the ability to lift engine components. i.e.: Blocks, cylinder heads, and crankshafts ≤ 50lbs.  Lab tech will be responsible for cutting crankshafts with marvel bandsaw and Struers wet saw to allow for metallurgical analysis to ensure part meets print requirement. Required Skills  Good interpersonal skills along with good written and oral communication skills.  Ability to multi-task when necessary to handle diverse assignments concurrently.
