Responsibilities
- Mechanical Assembly: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) to assemble industrial mixers, agitators, gearboxes, vacuum chambers, and discharge systems.
- Component Fitting & Alignment: Fit shafts, bearings, mechanical seals, gears, impellers, drives, and close-tolerance machined components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers).
- Pneumatics & Hydraulics: Route and install pneumatic lines, hydraulic valves, pumps, seals, and lubrication systems per fluid power schematics.
- Rigging & Overhead Crane Operation: Rig, hoist, and position large steel weldments, vessels, and heavy structural assemblies safely using overhead bridge cranes and jibs.
- Troubleshooting & Testing: Conduct dry runs and operational testing of fully assembled machinery; inspect runout, balance, thermal clearance, and seal integrity; troubleshoot and resolve mechanical binding or fitment issues prior to final inspection.
- Collaboration: Work alongside mechanical engineers, shop floor supervisors, welders, and panel wiremen/electricians to resolve design discrepancies and ensure build quality.
