We are seeking a hands-on master mechanic and jack-of-all-trades to oversee our plant floor and machinery. In this role, you will lead floor operations, prioritize preventative maintenance, and use an engineering-level understanding of systems to troubleshoot, rebuild, and fabricate solutions on the spot.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Stop downtime before it starts through proactive inspections, precision adjustments, fluid checks, and lubrication schedules.
- Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures; rebuild pumps, gearboxes, motors, and conveyor systems; execute precision shaft alignments.
- Floor Supervision & Safety: Lead floor operations, strictly enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and ensure complete OSHA and EPA compliance.
- Fabrication & Rigging: Utilize lathes, drill presses, and MIG/TIG welding to fabricate emergency parts; lead rigging and leveling for new machinery.
- CMMS Management: Log work orders, maintain equipment histories, and track spare parts inventory.
- Proven hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment.
- High proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, piping schematics, and fluid power diagrams.
- A mechanical engineering background (degree or coursework) is a plus.
- A proactive, preventative mindset with the ability to lead crews and manage a shop autonomously.

Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled inspections and servicing on production machinery, packaging lines, and plant utility systems.
- Innovative thinking to upgrade machines and improve the floor
- Lubricate bearings, replace seals, tension drive belts, clean filters, and adjust chains.
- Monitor operating equipment using vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and acoustic tools to detect early component wear.
- Calibrate gauges, pressure relief valves, flow meters, and safety limit switches.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure gauges, and dial indicators to isolate system failures during unplanned downtime.
