Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, adjust, and operate CNC fiber/CO₂ lasers; establish stop locations, configure machine parameters, and adjust focal points for optimal cut quality.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, work routers, and blueprints to determine job sequences, tolerances, and cutting paths.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect cut parts using precision handheld measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Material Handling & Staging: Load sheet metal onto cutting beds and safely offload finished parts and scrap.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled basic operator-level maintenance, lens checks, and cleaning to keep equipment running efficiently.
- Safety & Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean, organized workstation adhering to 5S principles and plant safety policies.
- Qualifications
- Experience: 6 months to 2+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment in a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing work orders.
- Measurement & Math: Skilled in using basic measuring devices and standard shop math.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs, and work safely in an active shop environment.
