Randstad Digital is currently seeking an onsite Health Information Specialist for one of our leading health system in the greater area of Los Angeles! responsibilities:
- This position will be onsite, will be processing patient health information, as well as printing and mailing required documents.
- Role may include frequent standing.
- Controls the management of health care data and records containing information about symptoms, examinations, test results and reports, diagnoses, treatment plans, and treatment outcomes.
- Creates health record indexes or storage and retrieval systems to collect, classify, store, and analyze patient information in hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, outpatient care centers, or hospices.
- Compiles, codes, indexes, checks, and analyzes permanent medical records of patients, and provides data for research or cost control and care improvement efforts, all in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system.
- Keeps patients' medical records organized, computerized, and maintained; and ensures they are accurate and complete.
qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in similar role, experience using EPIC for release of information, and sufficient experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of EPIC and experience EPIC release of information.
- HS Diploma. College preferred.
