As a SAP P2P & Supply Chain Functional Architect for a Randstad client in Washington D.C., you will serve as a lead functional architect, bridging critical business operations with advanced technology solutions. This pivotal role involves driving efficiency and innovation across procure-to-pay and supply chain processes through comprehensive business analysis, strategic process improvements, and the architectural design of seamless integrations. Your expertise in SAP and Ariba platforms, particularly within the MM and EWM modules, will be instrumental in enhancing data functionality and ensuring robust system interoperability, with a preference for familiarity with the rail ecosystem.

responsibilities:
- Lead the collection, consolidation, and meticulous documentation of complex business requirements and use cases from various procure-to-pay and supply chain processes.
- Architect, design, and implement internal process improvements, leveraging deep functional knowledge to optimize workflows and system utilization.
- Develop comprehensive functional and technical requirement models for tasks related to procure-to-pay and supply chain processes, specifically within SAP ERP ECC (MM, EWM modules) and Ariba on Demand.
- Oversee the identification, design, and development of integration strategies and solutions between SAP and non-SAP systems, utilizing leading integration models such as APIs and Web Services.
- Collaborate strategically with data and analytics experts to define data governance standards, ensure data quality, and drive initiatives that enhance the functionality and analytical capabilities of enterprise data systems.
- Provide expert functional guidance and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design and configuration to testing, training, and post-implementation support.
- Act as a senior subject matter expert for procure-to-pay and supply chain processes, advising stakeholders and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Functional Architect or Senior Business Systems Analyst with a strong focus on procure-to-pay (P2P) and supply chain domains.
- Deep functional and architectural understanding of SAP ERP ECC, specifically in Materials Management (MM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) modules, as well as SAP Ariba on Demand platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and overseeing the implementation of complex system integrations using various models (e.g., APIs, Web Services).
- Ability to translate high-level business strategies into detailed functional specifications, architectural designs, and system configurations.
- Familiarity with the rail ecosystem and its unique operational considerations is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and experience collaborating with data and analytics teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated landscapes.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead discussions and influence senior stakeholders.
