Randstad is seeking a high-caliber Senior SAP FI/CO Functional Analyst for a premier client in Washington, D.C. This highly visible, business-facing role focuses heavily on project implementation, enhancements, and stakeholder engagement within a hybrid ECC and S/4 HANA environment, with day-to-day production support managed by a separate team. Serving as a critical liaison between business units and technical teams, you will be responsible for leading customer interactions, gathering requirements, and driving the functional design and implementation of core financial processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public sector or quasi-governmental finance, with specific, deep expertise in Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Accounts Receivable (AR).

responsibilities:
Business Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for business units and end-users, leading requirement-gathering workshops, managing client expectations, and translating business processes into scalable SAP solutions.
Project Implementation & Enhancements: Drive full-lifecycle implementation and enhancement projects, taking a lead role in moving financial processes from legacy ECC systems into modern S/4 HANA environments.
Functional Design: Conduct structured requirements analysis, assess business priorities, advise on technical options, and author comprehensive Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for technical development resources.
Strategic Module Configuration: Act as the subject matter expert and configuration resource for high-priority financial modules, specifically Funds Management (FM) and Grants Management (GM).
Financial Process Optimization: Design, implement, and refine core business workflows centered around Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure maximum efficiency and modern system compliance.
Testing & Validation: Coordinate with business counterparts to develop user acceptance testing (UAT) cases, validate test results, track defects, and support user training initiatives.
Supervisory Support & Mentorship: Provide high-level, supervisory oversight for complex incident escalation and problem resolution, while actively mentoring and leveling up junior team members.
qualifications:
Core SAP Financial Expertise: Deep, hands-on functional configuration experience within SAP FI/CO, with mandatory, specialized skill sets in Funds Management (FM) and Grants Management (GM).
S/4 HANA Experience: Proven experience participating in or leading an S/4 HANA implementation or migration project, navigating both ECC and S/4 HANA architecture smoothly.
Communication & Liaison Skills: Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven track record of acting as a consultative bridge between IT and executive-level business users.
Business Process Knowledge: Strong functional understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, preferably within a public sector, federal funding, or infrastructure environment.
Autonomy & Leadership: Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal to no supervision, lead major implementation tracks, and provide functional mentorship to others.
Location Requirements: Ability to work with the client based in the Washington, D.C. area.
