job summary: A Construction Inspector is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Scranton, PA area. This role will be the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring vendors follow technical specs, safety rules, and daily reporting requirements to bring high-speed internet projects to completion. location: Scranton, Pennsylvania job type: Contract salary: $23.75 - 33.25 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: High School responsibilities: Serve as an Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector for fiber optic projects including FTTH, MDU, and FTTB.Collect and report daily data on vendor production and construction activities using Sitetracker mobile software.Review project drawings, prints, and specifications to ensure complete familiarity with design requirements.Monitor fiber optic installation to ensure compliance with customer guidelines and manufacturer Standard Recommended Procedures (SRP).Visit project sites daily to evaluate progress and address concerns from Project Managers or customers.Direct contractor activities on-site as needed to maintain project alignment and quality.Support material inventory management and track consumption for assigned projects.Enforce and adhere to safety rules and practices mandated by governing authorities.Implement local construction methods and procedures as required by specific project sites.Perform quality inspections for ongoing and completed work using established checklists.Communicate project status effectively through written reports and oral presentations. Skills: Ability to work independently and self-directed.Read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) prints.Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members.strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to work outside normal scheduled business hours periodically.Fluent in English.
