We are seeking a precise and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to set up and operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. In this role, you will manufacture high-quality precision parts from metal, plastic, or other materials, ensuring strict adherence to blueprints, engineering specifications, and safety standards.salary: $55,000 - $67,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC equipment (mills, lathes, or routers) to perform precision machining operations. Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements. Program Editing: Load CNC programs and make minor adjustments to G-code/M-code at the machine controller to optimize tool paths or correct dimensions. Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and CMMs) to ensure strict adherence to tolerances. Tooling Maintenance: Monitor tool wear, change out dull inserts/cutters, and perform routine daily maintenance on the machinery. Qualifications & Skills Experience: 2–5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes in a manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and manual machine setup. Programming Literacy: Basic understanding of G-code/M-code programming and the ability to edit programs at the machine control panel. Measurement Precision: Expert-level capability using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators). Education: High school diploma or equivalent; CNC certification or completion of a machinist apprenticeship is highly preferred.
