job summary: The Data Manager is an expert in managing data, processing, modeling, analysis, and reporting. This role will work within IT Department to develop and manage data models, data systems, data processes, and internal and customer-facing reports. This role will manage the Data team responsible for accurate data collection, reporting, and dashboards that will create and drive quality data-driven decision-making. This role will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, data science, and analytical techniques to draw insights from company data and convert these insights into strategic and business outcomes. This role will also work very closely with Business stakeholders, the Software Development Manager, Software developers, and other IT Department teams. location: Austin, Texas job type: Permanent salary: $150,000 - 170,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of enterprise data management, reporting, and analytics.Manage and grow data analytics and reporting staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, direct mentoring, training, and ensuring the quality of work.Own, deploy, document, and maintain the organization data model and how data flow between systems.Deeply understand and translate how the data model supports all areas of the business.Develop team and organization understanding of the data model and how it supports business processes and requirements.Research, write, review, interpret, analyze, and implement a variety of reports, dashboards, and data extracts.Respond to daily issues and ad hoc requests.Continually develop and improve data management strategies, data reporting solutions, data warehousing, cubes, lakes, and other reporting systems including migrations to new solutions.Manage projects including scope definition, requirements gathering, documentation, resource planning, and status monitoring.Create and collaborate on data policies, standards, structures, procedures, security, and controls.Evaluate and recommend software, hardware, and data storage improvements.Evaluate and recommend vendors or other external service providers.Manage assigned budget and provide input to the annual budgeting process. Prepare cost estimates and budget recommendations.Advise other teams on reporting and analytics topics and other new business reporting requirements.Assist in maintaining data security.Assist leadership with preparing materials for the board.
