job summary: The Medical Grants and Sponsorship Manager provides operational support for the review, coordination, and administration of educational grants and sponsorship programs. This role helps manage grant submissions, coordinate communications with applicants and internal stakeholders, track agreements and payments, and support reporting and operational analysis. The Manager will also assist in developing medical education and external sponsorship strategies and goals in close collaboration with the Therapeutic Area (TA) medical strategy team, including Medical Directors, the External Engagement Lead, and Ethics & Compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a background in grants and sponsorships, as well as strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. location: Cambridge, Massachusetts job type: Contract salary: $33.00 - 39.06 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelors responsibilities: Support the operational triage and review of educational grant and sponsorship proposals by assessing submissions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with internal guidelines.Monitor and manage applicant communications and inquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to support the grant review process and ensure timely responses.Co-develop the annual educational budget for disease areas, ensuring alignment with strategy and goals and adjusting forecasts based on changing business needs.Collaborate with Medical Directors, Ethics & Compliance (E&C), and Legal to establish or update medical education grant focus areas. Co-lead strategic approval of grants, sponsorships, and memberships (e.g., independent medical education grants, non-educational grants, medical sponsorships, corporate memberships) and serve as a voting member of the review team.Lead the development of Calls for Grant Applications (CGAs) with input from Medical Directors, Scientific Directors, Publication Managers, and other Medical Affairs stakeholders. Manage the Legal and E&C approval process, posting, review, and strategic decision-making related to CGAs.Oversee daily operational and project management activities associated with educational grants and Medical Affairs sponsorship processes (e.g., intake, review, tracking, scope changes, reconciliation, closeout, and reporting), and recommend process improvements as needed.Analyze final evaluation reports from grant recipients in partnership with the External Engagement Lead to identify educational gaps, insights, and impact, and communicate findings to internal teams.Manage external funding evaluations of supported grants, including audit activities in partnership with Legal and Ethics & Compliance, and resolve any audit-related issues.Support the generation of reports and analyses of supported programs in collaboration with Operations and Independent Medical Education teams.
