Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the medical assistant is responsible for:Receiving and preparing patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care.Working with patients on the clinic's patient education program and providing educational materials when appropriate.Maintaining supplies and equipment.Completing all required appointment prep processes in advance of the patient's scheduled appointment.Routinely and appropriately preparing exam rooms for patient appointments and potential procedures.Maintaining an even patient flow to enable the provider to maximize treatment time and patient volume.Rooming the patient and gathering required information and vitals per the provider's preferences.Accurately and timely documenting patient care information in the electronic health record.Performing basic treatments and procedures, and administering medication accurately, completely, and safely as ordered by the provider and according to approved procedures.Demonstrating competence with specific clinical skills and familiarity with clinic/hospital policy and procedures.Scheduling any necessary follow-up appointments/tests, informing the patient, and answering patient questions.Maintaining knowledge of provider services and answering patient questions in a sincere and courteous manner (in person or by phone).Providing appropriate instructions/educational material to patients, including follow-up/discharge instructions.Communicating concisely and clearly to the provider, supervisor, co-workers, and ancillary departments.Upholding professional practice standards by continually working to maintain/improve knowledge and skills.Attending meetings, completing training modules, and reviewing emails as assigned.Demonstrating clear understanding and proficient use of all computer programs.Prioritizing work to balance departmental needs and displaying a cooperative attitude.RequirementsEducation: High School, Medical Assistant Program preferred.Experience: Entry LevelCertifications:Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.Current medical assistant certification or registration.Skills: Knowledge of telephone etiquette, typing, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and essential medical assistant duties.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $19.00 to $28.00/hr (based on experience)Differentials: Night and evening shift differential, Lead and Certified differential.Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision benefits available.403(b) company match available.Tuition reimbursement.Employee discount program.Competitive PTO.
