We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent patient service abilities, and experience supporting interventional or pain management procedures. This role involves both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality care. Key Responsibilities: Greet and escort patients to exam or procedure rooms. Accurately obtain and document patient medical histories, chief complaints, current medications, allergies, and vital signs (including bilateral blood pressure). Prepare patients and procedure rooms for office-based interventional procedures (e.g., injections, minor surgical procedures). Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques. Assist the physician during procedures, including passing instruments, monitoring patients, and ensuring comfort and safety. Perform venipuncture (phlebotomy). Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens as ordered. Reinforce physician instructions regarding treatment plans, medications, and pre-/post-procedure care. Obtain and witness patient consent forms. Assist with medication refills and sample distribution, ensuring proper documentation and physician approval. Administer injections as directed and permitted by state law and clinic policy. Monitor patient conditions and notify the provider immediately of any emergency or acute care needs. Maintain readiness and proper functioning of emergency equipment. Clean, stock, and prepare exam and procedure rooms before and after patient visits. Ensure all supplies and equipment are sterile and readily available. Accurately document patient encounters, vitals, histories, procedures, and test results in the EHR. Assist with scheduling appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, and outside referrals. Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required. Certification/Registration:Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification strongly preferred. Licensure:Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Skills:Proficiency in obtaining accurate vital signs and performing venipuncture. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially in interventional and pain management settings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities. Demonstrated proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer applications. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
