job summary: We are seeking a Network Security Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical support for the assessment of compliance of information systems with DoD RMF standards.   location: Colorado Springs, Colorado job type: Contract salary: $60 - 79 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors   responsibilities: Candidate will be - - Primary Network Security Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program. - Responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network to operational sites. - Required to conduct research on different networking and security related topics independently and produce reports on findings. - Required to make sure that the teams devices are STIG's and hardened appropriately. - Run any and all Cyber protocols needed.   qualifications: Candidate must have: - Bachelor of Science Degree with 5 or more years of experience or a Master of Science Degree with 3 years of experience. - IAT Level II (8570) Compliant Certification such as Security+CE, CASP+CE, GSEC, SSCP, CND, GICSP, etc. - Active Secret Clearance - Ability to travel to alternate work locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, to execute job duties such as deployments. - Understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, UDP Multicast. - Firewall configuration knowledge such as Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto. - Knowledge of ACL design and function. - Hands on experience with multi-vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco). - Ability to design security configurations and testing procedures. - Familiarity with NIST CVE framework. - Experience with virtualization. - Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network and system engineers. Expected to develop and implement Department level security procedures. - Write, brief, and document POAM/Risk acceptance documents. - Develop and train other engineers. - Collaborate with Cyber department leadership and requirements team to ensure cross department security design compliance. - Review releases for cyber compliance - Create standards for the teams to develop to in order to maintain the highest standard of excellence for cyber security. - Generate KPIs with targets and identify metrics in which to properly measure progress towards these goals. - Automate as much as possible Work to address all CTOs, IAVAs, BODs, or directives issued that apply to the infrastructure.   qualifications: - Advanced degree and 7+ years' experience or bachelor's with 9+ years' experience or equivalent.
