Tooling Technician (Intermediate or Senior) Location: Peachtree City, GA Shift: 1st Shift (8-hour, Monday – Friday) Pay Range: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Technician IV to lead the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all injection molding tooling. This is a technical, hands-on role focused on optimizing process reliability, minimizing scrap, and maintaining a rigorous mold PM schedule. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair: Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble Hot Runner systems, valve gates, and mold components. Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose heating issues, repair mold defects, and interpret complex electrical diagrams for Hot Runner systems. Process Optimization: Determine if part defects are mold or process-related; establish and verify Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs). Inventory Management: Track and audit spare parts inventory and manage the mold PM schedule to meet on-time completion metrics. Project Leadership: Run Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at toolmakers and collaborate with vendors on mold refurbishments or upgrades. Mentorship: Train Level I, II, and III Tooling Technicians on advanced mold maintenance and Paulson PIM principles. Required Skills & Experience Experience: 5 to 10+ years of dedicated injection tooling experience. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Hot Runner controllers, valve gate systems, and how molding conditions affect part properties (strand orientation, strength, etc.). Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret technical documents and electrical schematics. Training: Paulson Training (Practical Injection Molding Basic) preferred or equivalent demonstrated knowledge.
