A valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions is required upon hire (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire). Key Skills: Understanding of the principles of employee training, supervision, and performance evaluation. Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning, and shop budgeting. salary: $100,000 - $124,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilities Team Supervision & Workflow Management: Schedule, direct, and monitor the daily workflow of maintenance shop personnel. Adjust schedules and rebalance workloads to minimize equipment downtime. Operational Oversight: Support the Equipment Maintenance Manager in meeting all operational goals. Ensure team adherence to established inspection, maintenance, and repair policies, as well as collective bargaining agreements (where applicable). Inspections & Safety Audits: Conduct periodic audits of facilities, yard, and equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Identify hazards, take corrective actions, and investigate the root cause of equipment failures or vehicle accidents. Procurement & Inventory: Assist with purchasing parts, tools, machinery, and supplies necessary to support uninterrupted shop operations. Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate documentation regarding vehicle service, repairs, parts inventory, and equipment activities (including Drivers Vehicle Inspection Reports and Equipment Condition Reports). Communication: Serve as the primary bridge of communication between the mechanic team and operations leadership.
