job summary: Client job description This professional level position will develop program logic, modify existing programs, test and document complex application systems to ensure efficient and effective system processing that meets the needs of the business areas across various technology platforms. This is an advanced programmer/analyst position whereby the incumbent will receive limited guidance from Information Technology management and development team members. Assignments will be of increasing complexity, with broader scope and significance, and includes a deep understanding of at least one application system and/or a broad understanding of multiple systems and interfaces. This position will also mentor other professional staff by providing guidance to improve productivity through the effective and efficient use of information technology tools and skills. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership in the use of the SDLC. Resolves production problems that create system outages, determines underlying cause of outage and addresses it to prevent future occurrences. Implements program logic, documentation, and procedural changes on schedule and according to an established implementation plan. Works with others to increase availability and performance of production systems. Serves as an internal technical consultant regarding the coding, testing, debugging, and installation of application logic, as well as looks for ways to improve processes.
