Quality patient care is safe patient care—it’s a priority for you, and us. Being aware of the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals is a part of cultivating a healthy workplace. Randstad Healthcare's clinical liaison service is also available to assist clinicians and clients to address any patient safety concerns by calling 800-919-9100.

Communication is key to a successful, safe healthcare industry. Make sure you’re up to date with the Joint Commission’s list of Do Not Use (DNU) Abbreviations: common shorthand words and phrases that are responsible for a large percentage of communication errors.

CPR and ACLS certification

As a healthcare professional traveling from assignment to assignment, it is often difficult to find CPR and ACLS classes when you are on the go. According to the American Heart Association (AHA) any CPR or ACLS recertification courses must include a hands-on skills demonstration portion before a card can be issued. BUT you can take advantage of the American Heart Association’s flexible and convenient eLearning course to renew your credential online. Simply visit the American Heart Association website to complete the cognitive learning portion for both your CPR and ACLS certification (Part I). Once complete, print your certificate of completion and within 30 days demonstrate your skills with an American Heart Association CPR/ACLS instructor. Skill demonstrations for both BLS and ACLS renewal take approximately 20-30 minutes.

NOTE: Please beware of online training companies that claim to offer CPR and ACLS certification that is in compliance with American Heart Association guidelines exclusively by completing their online course.
