responsibilities:
- Create inspection documents and perform hands-on inspections on hardware, prototypes, and incoming supplier parts.
- Investigate non-conforming products, perform root cause analysis, and generate 8D non-conformance reports.
- Collaborate closely with engineering on new product development, R&D projects, and sample evaluations.
- Monitor global supplier performance to ensure components meet rigorous mechanical quality standards.
- Investigate customer complaints and implement continuous improvement and corrective action programs.
qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of quality assurance or mechanical engineering experience in a hardware/physical parts manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read/interpret blueprints, and hands-on experience using precision tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Proven experience in root cause analysis, quality documentation, and basic quality tools (FMEA, cause-and-effect diagrams).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Direct exposure to new product development (NPD) or R&D environments.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles.
