Our client, a leader in clean energy technology, is looking for a Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer (NPI) to support rapid product introduction efforts. This contract role, based in Fremont, CA, will drive mechanical design, process development, and team leadership across our client's cutting-edge fuel cell systems. responsibilities:
- Manage new product introduction (NPI) transfers to internal and external manufacturing teams
- Lead mechanical engineering efforts for design, process development, and documentation
- Design components, fixtures, and tools using SolidWorks and ePDM
- Develop and maintain PFMEAs, BOMs, and part drawings
- Train manufacturing personnel on processes, tools, and testing procedures
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 6+ years in mechanical/NPI engineering roles
- Demonstrated experience with sheet metal, machined parts, castings, and plumbing
- Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and test lab skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and ePDM
- Experience with process scale-up and production support
- Excellent written and verbal communication
