A Project Engineer is needed for a utility holding company in the Minneapolis, MN area. This role is focused on the hands-on engineering, testing, and failure analysis of capital equipment within hydroelectric power plants.

responsibilities:
- Manage capital projects specifically for hydroelectric facilities across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- Design, model, and develop machines, structures, and systems using standard engineering principles.
- Establish functional requirements and create simulations or prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs.
- Test individual components and integrate them into final, operational products.
- Monitor product quality and implement controls to improve process efficiency.
- Evaluate designs based on overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety standards.
- Conduct root-cause investigations into system failures to maintain quality and recommend technical improvements.
- Travel to hydro plants to plan and execute work scopes directly on-site.
- Coordinate project status and deliverables while working from office or facility locations.
- Ensure all renewable energy projects meet rigorous performance and safety benchmarks.
