Mechanical HVAC Technical Support Engineer is needed for a leading cooling technology organization outside of Greenville, SC. The Mechanical HVAC Field Service Engineer will act as the primary advisor for the mechanical and system-level performance of large-scale cooling solutions. You are responsible for guiding equipment installation, conducting final acceptance testing, and providing deep-level troubleshooting for complex mechanical malfunction, ensuring the operational robustness of our systems while bridging the gap between field experiences and future product design.
Candidates must possess at least 5+ years of experience in commercial air conditioning design or after-sales support. You must demonstrate expert knowledge of large chillers, refrigeration cycles, and system components like pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. This role requires a self-driven leader capable of thriving in a fast-paced startup environment and managing occasional urgent travel. Candidates can work remotely, although hybrid is preferred with 20% travel.

- Rapidly resolve deep-level technical issues related to refrigeration cycles, heat exchangers, and cooling system performance
- Provide on-site and remote repair plans for major project sites to minimize system downtime and ensure successful commissioning
- Lead investigations into major after-sales incidents, drafting detailed technical reports to inform internal engineering and quality teams
- Enhance the team's overall capability by mentoring junior engineers and leading workshops on the latest mechanical technology trends
- Systematize field data to develop and refine technical service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures
- Collect product quality data and customer requirements to help optimize future product robustness and market strategies
