A Design Engineer is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Bloomfield, CT area. The position focuses on leading product development through the entire lifecycle from CAD modeling in PTC Creo to NPI while managing technical documentation, economic studies, and cross-disciplinary problem-solving.

responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-fidelity models, simulations, and control strategies to resolve technical problems.
- Lead engineering investigations as a principal investigator, developing solutions and preparing comprehensive recommendations.
- Manage new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure a seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
- Create and document product designs that satisfy functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Utilize PTC Creo and Windchill for solid modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings of plastic, stamped metal, and conductive parts.
- Perform tolerance loops, root cause analysis, and risk management reviews for technical design validation.
- Conduct economic studies and prepare technical specifications, contract proposals, and safety documentation.
- Coordinate engineering change orders (ECNs/ICNs) to facilitate smooth implementation into production.
- Represent the organization in customer meetings to resolve significant technical issues and develop action plans.
- strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience in mechanical design, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation in PTC Creo (or similar CAD tools).
- Experience with Sheet Metal design for enclosures or busbar systems using PTC Creo and Windchill PLM systems.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, technical design role.
