responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical and plumbing estimates from drawings, specs, and bid documents
- Perform takeoffs across systems including boilers, chilled water, steam piping, and more
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accurate, competitive pricing
- Build comprehensive cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project handoffs to support smooth execution
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of estimating experience in mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing projects
- strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Knowledge of ASME standards, QA programs, or "R" Stamp capabilities is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
