A Commissioning Engineer is needed for a leading cooling technology OEM. The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the startup, validation, and performance testing of critical data center cooling systems to ensure maximum reliability. This role serves as the primary technical lead on-site, managing the transition from installation to full operational handoff for complex liquid cooling infrastructure.
Candidates should possess an Engineering degree and 3-7+ years of hands-on experience in commissioning HVAC or mission-critical data center infrastructure. You must be proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical control systems while maintaining the ability to travel up to 40% to various customer project locations. Candidates can work in a hybrid or remote capacity when not traveling.

responsibilities:
- Lead on-site commissioning and functional testing for chillers, CDUs, Fan Walls, and advanced liquid cooling systems to ensure they meet design specs
- Resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues during the critical installation and startup phases
- Review installation quality to verify that all hardware aligns with engineering drawings, P&IDs, and industry best practices
- Develop comprehensive commissioning plans and checklists, documenting final results, punch lists, and formal acceptance reports
- Interface directly with clients to provide technical support and train site personnel on system operations and maintenance
- Partner with field service teams and contractors to coordinate schedules and provide performance feedback to internal engineering teams
