Are you a seasoned Estimator who prides yourself on accuracy, integrity, and strategic thinking? Our client, a highly respected commercial general contractor, is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
This isn't about rushing through spreadsheets; it's about joined-up thinking, technical excellence, and playing a pivotal role in the lifecycle of high-quality regional builds.
In this role, you will lead the estimating process for diverse commercial projects, ranging from education and healthcare to industrial facilities. You'll be joining a stable, collaborative firm that values long-term relationships over short-term wins. You be able to take ownership of the pre-construction phase, from conceptual budgets to final lump-sum bids. You'll work closely with project managers and owners to ensure project feasibility and value engineering. You'll benefit from a sophisticated back-office team and modern estimating software suites.
You'll need a proven track record with at least 5 years of experience in commercial estimating (GC experience preferred). You'll need to be detail-oriented with a sharp eye for scope analysis and a deep understanding of market labor and material costs. You should also posess the ability to mentor junior staff and foster great vendor/subcontractor partnerships.

responsibilities:
Must have the ability to do take-off estimates for all trades involved in a project and create budgets and estimates throughout every design phase including canceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents. Create project specific Basis of Design documention for presentation and exhibit attachments. Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents to determine the overall project scope and project requirements. Prepare competitive bids from plans and specifications. Prepare detailed estimates of general requirements and conditions of the contract including temporary facilities, barriers, closures, fencing, permits, supervision, etc. Develop detailed critical path project schedules in conjunction with the bidding process to validate general conditions costs, estimate supervision and overhead costs, evaluate the risk of liquidated damages, and evaluate the feasibility of published completion dates. Negotiate and award contracts to subcontractors and vendors.
