Manufacturer in the St. Albans area is seeking a Manufacturing Capital Project Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate with have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing and working with project engineering or management with capital projects. This position will oversee installation of new lines in a manufacturing environment. Experience in fast moving consumer goods, food or beverage manufacturing desired. responsibilities:
- Manage engineering and capital projects from concept through implementation, including packaging line installations, plant utilities modifications, refrigeration, and civil building construction
- Review, finalize, and supervise technical drawings and documentation, ensuring alignment with site safety, quality, operations, and maintenance teams
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams alongside external vendors and contractors to design, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment and process improvements
- Develop project schedules, forecast and track Capex spend, maintain risk assessments, and communicate performance metrics to leadership
- Drive continuous improvement and production troubleshooting using Early Equipment Management (EEM) methodology to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and throughput
- At least 4 years of experience in project engineering or related industrial manufacturing roles
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering or capital equipment (CapEx) projects, with familiarity in FDA-regulated manufacturing preferred
- Proficiency with project management and design tools, specifically MS Project and AutoCAD
- strong understanding of project management principles, lean manufacturing, and Early Equipment Management (EEM) methodology
