Responsibilities
- Cost Analysis: Collect and analyze data regarding raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and overhead to determine accurate product costs.
- Variance Investigation: Monitor standard costs versus actual costs; investigate and explain variances in material usage, labor, and overhead.
- Inventory Management: Oversee perpetual inventory systems, coordinate physical inventory counts, and manage reserves for obsolete or slow-moving stock.
- Profitability Reporting: Analyze product margins and pricing strategies to support management's strategic decisions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts, focusing heavily on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
- Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, reconcile inventory and cost accounts, and support timely monthly and year-end financial closing.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline manufacturing workflows.
