Job Type: Full-time (Temp-to-Hire)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Position Overview Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of green industry supply chains? We are seeking a Procurement & Wholesale Manager to anchor our operations by ensuring our project managers, crews, and yard teams have the right plant materials at the right time, quantity, and quality.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind our plant material sourcing, vendor relationships, and purchase order accuracy. While you will also manage a small secondary re-wholesale revenue stream, your primary mission is to protect internal operational readiness and eliminate supply bottlenecks.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications) Must-Haves:
- strong plant material knowledge (or the proven ability to develop it rapidly).
- Exceptional organizational skills and disciplined follow-through, capable of juggling multiple orders and moving timelines under pressure.
- Laser-sharp attention to detail when managing purchase orders, specifications, and logistics tracking.
- Proactive, clear communication style to align vendors, yard teams, and leadership.
- Prior experience in nursery operations, plant sourcing, or landscape procurement.
- Experience handling wholesale plant sales or order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with commercial landscape workflows, purchasing systems, or a strong existing regional vendor network.
salary: $30 - $32 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors
Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Vendor Coordination: Source all plant materials and operational inputs needed for active construction, maintenance, and irrigation projects. Communicate daily with growers, nurseries, and suppliers to secure quality stock and build vendor relationships.
- Order Accuracy & Logistics: Create and manage highly accurate purchase orders, verifying quantities, sizes, and specifications. Schedule and coordinate timely deliveries to align with field timelines and yard capacity.
- Internal Operations Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers and division leaders, proactively communicating supply constraints, potential shortages, or necessary material substitutions.
- Re-Wholesale Management: Coordinate outside customer wholesale sales orders professionally without allowing them to disrupt internal operational priorities.
- Systems Improvement: Maintain clean purchasing records, track key vendor metrics, and continuously improve cross-functional handoffs between estimating, procurement, and the yard.
