Position Summary
Randstad is seeking a Mental Health Clinician (MHC) to join the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS). Serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and complex trauma, this role delivers high-level clinical, person-centered support. Operating on-site and in the field, the MHC provides psychotherapy, DSM-5 evaluations, advanced crisis intervention, and leadership support to team members to promote long-term stability and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Assessment & Psychotherapy: Perform mental status exams, DSM assessments, and intake evaluations; deliver individual/group psychotherapy, substance use counseling, and trauma-informed treatment planning.
- Advanced Crisis & Clinical Guidance: Provide crisis intervention, hospital/institutional discharge planning, and de-escalation; offer clinical guidance to Case Managers, facilitate team meetings, and assist in the Supervisor’s absence.
- Housing Stability & Benefits Administration: Guide housing placements, recertifications, and tenancy retention; assist clients with benefit applications (SSI/SSDI, Medicaid), rep-payee funds, and medication self-administration.
- Outreach & Operational Support: Escort clients to appointments; support daily living skills (ADLs, pest/hoarding remediation); log comprehensive EHR documentation to meet required monthly contact standards.
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or related field required (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC preferred).
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience providing clinical services, crisis intervention, or case management to vulnerable or special-needs populations preferred.
- Core Competencies: Expertise in DSM diagnosis, trauma-informed care, team leadership, crisis de-escalation, and comfort conducting community-based visits.
- Time Off: 17 days PTO (1st yr), 10 sick days, 3 personal days, 12 paid holidays.

Responsibilities
Clinical & Assessment Services
- Diagnostic Evaluations: Perform mental status exams (MSEs), psychosocial assessments, intakes, and DSM-based diagnoses.
- Psychotherapy: Deliver individual, group, and substance use counseling using evidence-based practices.
- Treatment Planning: Create and update person-centered Individualized Service Plans (ILPs).
- Crisis Management: Provide trauma-informed de-escalation, safety planning, and emergency coordination.
- Community Care: Escort clients to medical, legal, and benefit appointments; coordinate with hospitals and care providers.
- Health Support: Assist with medication self-administration and psychiatric care (Janian Medical).
- Housing Services: Assist with applications, inspections, landlord relations, and housing retention.
- Benefits & Finances: Help secure public benefits (SSI/SSDI, Medicaid) and manage representative payee funds.
- ADL Support: Assist with hygiene, home maintenance, hoarding mitigation, and pest remediation protocols.
- Team Guidance: Facilitate meetings, provide crisis guidance, and step in for the Clinical Supervisor when needed.
- Mentorship: Guide Case Managers, run in-service trainings, and supervise interns.
- Compliance: Maintain timely EHR documentation and meet monthly contact hour targets.
