Working standard daytime hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), you will greet patients, answer incoming calls, and maintain accurate scheduling records while upholding strict HIPAA privacy standards. You will gain the confidence and cooperation of patients, families, and healthcare teams through clear communication and dependable support. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Coordinate and maintain scheduling for specialized medical procedures, liaising between physician offices, hospital departments, patients, and care teams while maintaining complete documentation and PHI compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule specialized medical procedures, coordinating room, equipment, and provider availability across departments.
- Handle daily clerical tasks, including answering phones, greeting patients, and organizing patient scheduling documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure smooth procedural workflows.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all Patient Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Resolve routine scheduling conflicts independently by choosing appropriate solutions from established departmental guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent relevant experience in medical scheduling or healthcare clerical support.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic tests, surgeries, and clinical consultations.
- General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
