About The Opportunity We are seeking 2 detail-oriented and reliable Claims Payment Specialists to assist our accounting team with high-volume catastrophe recovery efforts. In this role, you will play a critical part in verifying, auditing, and processing claims payment requests to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to internal control procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable (A/P), or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits), accurate calculation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking abilities, clear written/verbal communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Review claims payment requests and verify accurate payment coding and financial entries.
- Audit request amounts against Statement of Loss (SOL) and Estimates (EST).
- Cross-reference prior payments to prevent duplicate or inaccurate payouts.
- Verify payee details against policy declarations pages, signed contracts, and claim documents.
- Select approved vendors, attorneys, and public adjusters from the global payee list.
- Identify, document, and resolve potential payment variances and discrepancies in collaboration with claims staff.
- Ensure all outgoing policyholder payment letters contain accurate details.
- Assist with complex billing issues and answer inquiries regarding cleared or outstanding checks and banking matters.
