Manufacturing Automation Engineer The Opportunity Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of robotics, mechanical design, and operational excellence? We are a leading aerospace component manufacturer seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Automation Engineer to spearhead our automation initiatives. In this role, you won't just maintain systems—you will design, program, and implement unique automated and semi-automated solutions for both assembly and complex machining operations across advanced product lines.
If you want to own high-impact projects from concept to the production floor in a sophisticated, high-mix manufacturing environment, this is your next step.
What You Will Do
- Drive Automation Strategy: Provide technical leadership to design and deploy custom automated solutions across high-tech fluids and electro-mechanical hardware product lines.
- Program & Integrate: Get hands-on with advanced industrial systems—programming, troubleshooting, and integrating PLC networks (Siemens TIA Portal / Allen-Bradley), robotics, and cutting-edge machine vision systems.
- Design Custom Tooling: Utilize SOLIDWORKS to design innovative fixtures, custom tooling, and optimize machine/equipment layouts for maximum throughput.
- Eliminate Bottlenecks: Target process inefficiencies and leverage automation to directly improve cycle times, quality metrics, equipment uptime, and labor efficiency.
- Lead Projects End-to-End: Manage cross-functional timelines, coordinate with external vendors, and serve as the main driver for issue resolution on the factory floor.
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience as an Automation Engineer in a machining or assembly environment (Aerospace or regulated industry preferred).
- Technical Arsenal: Mastery of Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, industrial robotics, and 3D CAD design.
- Education: BS Degree in Engineering.
- Problem-Solving DNA: Deep understanding of blueprints, engineering specs, and Lean principles.
- Bonus Points: Basic scripting skills in Python or C++ for advanced data analysis and equipment interfacing.
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 (Based on experience)
- Location: Fullerton, CA (Hybrid factory floor/office setup)
salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors
Responsibilities
