About Us [Company Name] is a premier commercial print provider in the Twin Cities metro. We are seeking an experienced 1st Shift Lead Offset Pressman to oversee multi-color press operations, maintain high color standards, and keep production moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Press Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate multi-color sheetfed/web offset presses (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, Manroland) per job tickets.
- Color & Quality Control: Maintain ink-and-water balance, proper register, and precise color consistency using spectro/densitometers.
- Maintenance & Setup: Perform routine preventative press maintenance, roller settings, plate changes, and basic troubleshooting to limit downtime.
- Team Leadership: Work closely with and guide 1st-shift press helpers and second pressmen.
- Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience operating multi-color offset presses.
- Deep knowledge of ink-water balance, paper stock behavior, and automated press controls.
- strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent color vision and ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Press Setup & Execution: Read job tickets to configure multi-color offset presses (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, Manroland) for paper stock, ink parameters, and color specs.
- Color & Quality Management: Maintain exact register, correct ink density, and consistent color matching throughout short and long runs using spectro/densitometers.
- 1st Shift Production: Drive day-shift productivity, ensuring jobs meet customer deadlines while minimizing scrap and downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine press wash-ups, roller settings, plate adjustments, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Team Guidance: Partner with and mentor press helpers and second pressmen on the 1st shift crew.
- Safety & Compliance: Operate in accordance with OSHA guidelines, company safety standards, and general pressroom cleanliness practices.
