Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a continuous improvement and safety-first culture.
- Equipment Reliability: Oversee repair, troubleshooting, and preventive/predictive maintenance for high-speed processing and packaging machinery (conveyors, fillers, ovens, refrigeration systems, PLCs, pneumatic/hydraulic systems).
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to SQF/BRC, FDA, USDA, GMP, and OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Downtime Reduction: Rapidly respond to emergency breakdowns, analyze root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Operations & Inventory: Manage work orders through our CMMS, maintain critical spare parts inventory, and oversee vendor and contractor relationships.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, with extensive expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Industry Focus: Prior experience in a food, beverage, or highly regulated CPG manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Leadership: Proven track record of supervising, training, and developing maintenance personnel in a 24/7 production setting.
- Technical Skills: strong proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, automated packaging lines, and industrial utilities (boilers, chillers, air compressors). CMMS software experience required.
- Certifications: High school diploma/GED required; technical degree, journeyman license, or industrial certifications are a major plus.

Responsibilities
Equipment Reliability & Preventative Maintenance
- Oversee scheduled PM programs for high-speed processing and packaging machinery to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Perform root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) on line breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all maintenance work meets FDA, USDA, SQF, and HACCP standards for food contact surfaces and hygiene protocols.
- Enforce strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), allergen cross-contamination preventions, and sanitary welding practices.
- Maintain complete audit-ready records for equipment servicing, water treatment, and facility safety checks.
- Direct, train, and schedule shift technicians, electricians, and utility mechanics.
- Manage vendor contracts, specialized contractors, and spare parts inventory within allocated operational budgets.
- Monitor critical plant utilities, including ammonia refrigeration, steam boilers, compressed air, and wastewater systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (TPM/5S) to boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
