Got a knack for hardware, rack assembly, and keeping cables cleaner than a server room photo shoot? We’re looking for a sharp, hands-on Engineering Lab Technician for an immediate, fast-paced 1-month project in Germantown.
You’ll team up directly with our Lab Manager to tear down, move, and rebuild a high-tech software engineering and satellite communications facility. If you love physical engineering tasks, clean cable runs, and seeing a complex lab come together from the ground up, this is your zone.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Tear Down & Transport: Inventory, pack, and securely relocate sensitive lab gear and satellite coms hardware.
- Rack & Build: Unbolt, move, and reassemble equipment racks at the new site.
- Master the Cabling: Route, connect, and organize power and data runs for peak functionality.
- Launch Readiness: Help run final operational checks so the engineering team can hit the ground running.
- Hands-On Experience: Background in mechanical/electrical tear-downs, rack builds, and professional cabling.
- Physical Capability: Comfortable lifting, packing, and assembling heavy lab hardware throughout the shift.
- Attention to Detail: Organized, safety-conscious, and precise with technical setup instructions.
- Immediate Availability: Ready to jump in, take ownership, and crush a 1-month sprint starting ASAP.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Inventory & Relocation: Inventory, package, and transport lab equipment securely.
- Rack Assembly: Disassemble hardware racks and reassemble them at the new location.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Install, route, and connect lab cabling.
- Operational Readiness: Assist with final lab setup and testing preparation.
- Experience with mechanical/electrical disassembly, rack hardware setup, and cable installation.
- strong organizational skills and ability to follow technical directions carefully.
- Physical ability to move, pack, and assemble laboratory equipment.
- Immediate availability for a 1-month contract.
