In this critical frontline role, you will oversee the assembly and fabrication of heavy-duty transit structures, driving productivity, safety, and operational excellence across our welding department.

Responsibilities
- Lead daily Weld Shop operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
- Translate production schedules into daily operational priorities and staffing plans.
- Set shift expectations, conduct daily huddles, and clearly communicate priorities to team members.
- Maintain a visible shop-floor presence and promptly address production line concerns.
- Ensure necessary equipment, tooling, fixtures, and consumables are ready and properly maintained for daily operations.
- Supervise Weld Leads and Welders for schedule adherence, work efficiency, and quality execution.
- Assign work based on employee qualifications, skillset, and shop capacity.
- Manage attendance, coaching, performance feedback, and corrective actions.
- Build constructive labor relations and resolve shop floor issues fairly and consistently.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing skills development for new personnel.
- Enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies; hold the authority and responsibility to stop unsafe work.
- Ensure all work complies with engineering drawings, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and internal quality standards.
- Partner closely with Quality and welding inspectors to identify root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
