We are seeking a versatile, self-motivated CNC Machinist skilled in both milling and turning operations on Haas platforms to join our production team.
Position Overview In this role, you will be responsible for full setups, tool setting, part prove-outs, and production runs across our fleet of Haas CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) and Haas CNC Lathes. You will machine flight hardware out of standard aerospace alloys as well as difficult-to-machine superalloys to tolerances down to ±.0002"–.0005".
Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Operation: Complete setup, teardown, and operation of Haas 3-axis/4-axis VMCs and Haas turning centers (including live-tooling lathes if applicable).
- Workholding & Tooling: Indicate vises, build custom soft jaws, mount fixtures, preset tools, qualify offsets, and set zero coordinates accurately.
- Control Navigation: Navigate the Haas Next Generation Control (NGC) and classic Haas controls, make work/geometry/wear offset adjustments, and edit G-code/M-code directly at the machine.
- First-Part Prove-Out: Dry-run and single-block new programs, verify tool paths against clearance limits, and produce successful first-piece parts before releasing jobs to run.
- Precision Inspection: Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, depth/bore gauges, gauge pins, calipers, and height stands per AS9102 inspection travelers.
- Material Management: Machine aerospace-grade raw stock including aluminum (6061, 7075), stainless steels (15-5 PH, 17-4 PH, 316), titanium (Ti 6Al-4V), and nickel superalloys (Inconel).
- Process Documentation: Maintain thorough job traveler sign-offs, heat/lot tracking, and tool life logs to satisfy strict aerospace traceability mandates.
