Position Overview We are hiring a skilled, self-reliant 2nd Shift CNC Machinist capable of setting up and operating both CNC mills and CNC lathes. Working on our campus during 2nd shift, you will have the autonomy to run production, manage changeovers, troubleshoot tooling, and ensure high-integrity parts move seamlessly through our manufacturing flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Dual-Discipline Setup & Operation: Perform changeovers, set up tools, load fixtures, and run production across CNC vertical/horizontal mills and 2-axis/multi-axis turning centers.
- First-Part Prove-Out: Single-block new programs, verify clearance planes, adjust fixture offsets, and inspect first-piece parts before beginning production runs.
- Control Navigation & Code Edits: Edit G-code and M-code at the control, set tool height and work coordinate systems (WCS), and manage wear offsets.
- Precision In-Process Inspection: Verify close-tolerance dimensions (down to ±.0002"–.0005") using micrometers, bore gauges, height stands, indicators, and optical comparators per AS9102 travelers.
- Aerospace Material Processing: Machine common aerospace alloys including aluminum (6061, 7075), stainless steels (15-5 PH, 17-4 PH, 300 series), titanium, and nickel alloys.
