About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Patient Registration Representative to handle patient pre-registration, upfront collections, and financial screening. In this fast-paced role, you will provide excellent customer service while assisting uninsured patients in identifying and applying for eligible state medical programs. Key Responsibilities Register inpatients and outpatients efficiently and hospitably. Calculate and secure upfront collections, including co-pays and co-insurance. Interview and screen uninsured patients to determine eligibility for state medical assistance programs. Assist patients with the benefit application process, paperwork, and database updates. Travel to off-site locations as needed (for outpatient/financial counseling duties). Maintain strict adherence to all HIPAA laws and patient confidentiality regulations. Successfully complete required comprehensive training and certification programs. Required Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required (continuing education preferred). Experience: 1+ year in a high-volume healthcare facility or medical office. Technical Skills: computer skills (Word, Excel, navigating multiple screens), typing speed of 45+ WPM, and analytical/problem-solving abilities. Industry Knowledge: Proven insurance and billing experience required. Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills with high attention to detail. Good English speaking, reading, and mathematical skills. Mobility: Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to off-site locations.salary: $21.33 - $21.34 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilitiesMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians.
