In this hybrid-remote role, you will act as a technical consultant for complex manufacturing challenges, utilizing your expertise in gear and grinding processes to drive growth across the North American market. I location: ROCKFORD, Illinois job type: Permanent salary: $100,000 - 110,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: High School responsibilities: Consultative Sales Strategy: Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities for high-precision CNC gear hobbers, shapers, and Blanchard grinding machines within the assigned territory. Technical Solutions Mapping: Analyze customer manufacturing requirements to recommend specific CNC configurations, multi-tasking platforms, and specialty grinding solutions that optimize their production cycles. Relationship Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for existing accounts, ensuring their CNC fleet is supported through spare parts, service upgrades, and machine rebuild programs. Complex Demonstrations: Lead technical presentations and demonstrations that highlight the precision, software capabilities, and "Made in the USA" engineering excellence of our client's machine tools. Territory Growth: Manage the full sales lifecycle-from cold calling and lead generation to closing high-capital equipment contracts-to meet or exceed annual revenue and margin targets. Role Requirements Experience: 1-3+ years of proven success in capital equipment or machine tool sales (specifically involving CNC machinery or industrial manufacturing equipment). Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and an understanding of CNC machining processes, gear manufacturing, and precision grinding (knowledge of Blanchard or Springfield machines is a major plus). Software Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Windows). Travel Commitment: Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned North American territory 60-70% of the time. Education: High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
