We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and collaborative Mortgage Loan Pricing/Lock Desk Specialist to support our Retail and Correspondent Desk operations. In this fast-paced role, you will work closely with Loan Officers, lenders, and internal departments to manage the accurate and timely execution of rate locks and pipeline data updates. Location: Glen Allen, VA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Position Type: 6+ Month Contract The ideal candidate possesses a foundational understanding of mortgage operations, basic math skills, and excellent communication habits to thrive in a high-volume email environment.Key Responsibilities Lock & Pipeline Maintenance: Execute manual updates to rate locks, relocks, extensions, rate changes, and price renegotiations in strict alignment with established pricing and eligibility guidelines. Inbox Management: Efficiently monitor and manage 4 shared team inboxes (averaging 30–50 emails/day each) to provide prompt and professional support to internal partners. System Testing & Compliance: Assist in the testing, validation, and documentation of updates to pricing and eligibility rule rollouts to ensure data accuracy. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Loan Officers and internal teams to troubleshoot pricing discrepancies, resolve pipeline issues, and promote a seamless workflow. Required Skills & Experience Industry Foundations: Prior experience in the mortgage industry is highly preferred. A firm grasp of basic mortgage terminology (rates, pricing, credits, debits) is essential. Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with solid functional skills in Excel. Experience with mortgage platforms like Empower, Encompass, or PollyEx is a massive plus. Solid Mathematical Abilities: High comfort level working with basic calculations, percentages, fractions, and debits/credits essential to pricing scenarios. Exceptional Communication: Top-tier written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain high-touch, polite communication across heavy email volume. Organizational Excellence: Ability to multitask efficiently, prioritize urgent lock requests, and maintain high accuracy under tight deadlines.
