The CNC Milling Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and programming Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) milling machines, primarily focusing on complex 3-axis and advanced 5-axis machining. The role requires the ability to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications, while maintaining strict quality standards and safety protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines, with a strong emphasis on 5-axis machines, ensuring tools, fixtures, and materials are correctly installed. Load, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto the machine. Determine the appropriate cutting tools, feed rates, spindle speeds, and depth of cuts for different materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, titanium, exotic alloys). Programming and Editing: Create, modify, and optimize G-code programs for complex 3D contours and multi-sided features, utilizing 5-axis capabilities to minimize setups and maximize efficiency. Perform manual edits to programs (at the control or offline) to fine-tune tool paths, speeds, and feeds for optimal performance and surface finish. Understand and apply CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, HyperMill) for program generation and verification. Quality and Inspection: Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM). Ensure all parts meet strict dimensional and geometric tolerance requirements as specified on blueprints and engineering drawings. Identify and correct machining problems (e.g., chatter, poor finish, dimensional errors) as they arise. Maintenance and Safety: Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or deviations. Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, including checking fluid levels, cleaning tools, and reporting necessary repairs. Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and housekeeping procedures. salary: $18 - $20 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: No Degree RequiredResponsibilitiesThe CNC Milling Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and programming Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) milling machines, primarily focusing on complex 3-axis and advanced 5-axis machining.
