The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is integral to our lean, high-output team, providing essential accounting support across our diverse portfolio of investment and development entities. You will handle everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to complex project-related financial tasks. Key Responsibilities Transactional Accounting: Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) for various real estate investment and development entities. Financial Reporting: Facilitate monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and capital accrual preparation for active development projects. Lease & Tenant Management: Set up and maintain leases within accounting software; oversee rent collection, processing, and tenant communication. Reconciliations: Prepare annual NNN reconciliations and address tenant inquiries; post monthly debt service payments and reconcile loan activity. Project Support: Assist the CFO with construction draws and provide financial reports to partners, lenders, and external CPAs. Compliance: Manage annual 1099 filings and ensure all reporting aligns with internal standards. Ad Hoc Analysis: Complete various administrative and financial reports as assigned to support executive decision-making. Qualifications & Skills Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office (specifically Excel) are required. Experience with MRI software is strongly preferred. Analytical Mindset: Basic analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and organizational prowess. Communication:written and interpersonal skills; ability to interface professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners. Work Ethic: A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment. Education & Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience. Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in commercial real estate construction, development, or tax accounting is preferred. Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
