Skilled Tool & Die / CNC Machinist needed to program and machine precision tooling. Responsibilities include building and repairing tools, dies, and fixtures, operating CNC machinery and using manual toolroom equipment, and collaborating with engineering to improve tool design and manufacturability.salary: $65,000 - $87,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilities Design, fabricate, modify, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges in support of production and new product development. Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines with FANUC controls, including tooling selection, workholding, offsets, and first-article validation. Utilize toolroom manual equipment (engine lathes, Bridgeports, drill presses) and surface grinders to produce precision components to print specifications. Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances to ensure tooling meets functional and dimensional requirements. Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparators, and other precision measuring instruments. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues, making adjustments to improve tool performance, part quality, and cycle time. Maintain CNC and manual machines in safe, reliable working condition, performing routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs as needed. Partner closely with engineering and design teams to improve tool designs, manufacturability, and overall production efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling durability, process capability, and shop best practices.
