Position Summary One of the largest and most successful Law Firm in the Southeast seeks an experienced, detail-oriented Auto Appraiser. This field-based role is essential to our legal process, providing the forensic and technical expertise required to accurately assess damages and determine the true economic loss of vehicles involved in accidents. The ideal candidate is an expert estimator and licensed appraiser with a deep, practical understanding of auto repair and valuation standards.Key Responsibilities Forensic Damage Inspection: Conduct impartial inspections of accident-damaged vehicles across South Florida (at body shops, salvage yards, or third-party locations). Accurate Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed, defensible repair estimates using industry-standard software (CCC One, Mitchell, Audatex). Valuation Determination: Establish the Actual Cash Value (ACV) for total-loss vehicles and calculate Diminished Value (DV) claims. Litigation Support: Prepare clear, concise technical reports and documentation for legal filings and demand packages. Expert Testimony: Serve as a subject matter expert, providing deposition or trial testimony regarding damage causation, repair costs, and valuation findings. Negotiation & Review: Review and challenge estimates presented by opposing counsel or insurance carriers. Qualifications and Experience 5+ years of experience as a licensed Auto Damage Appraiser, Field Appraiser, or Senior Estimator (body shop or insurance carrier background). Active Florida Motor Vehicle Damage Appraiser License is required. Expert proficiency in a major estimating platform (CCC One, Mitchell, or Audatex). Advanced technical knowledge of modern vehicle construction and repair methodologies. Good verbal and written communication skills; comfort negotiating and explaining complex findings. Relevant technical certifications (e.g., I-CAR, ASE) are highly desirable. Work Environment This is a full-time, field-based role requiring reliable personal transportation for regional inspections. You will be integrated into the litigation team, collaborating daily with attorneys and paralegals.
