This pivotal role (fully on site with some flexibility in NW DC) will serve as the sole FInance professional, bringing the Finance function in house; previously managed by an out-sourced accounting/audit firm. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will be instrumental in shaping operational excellence, ensuring financial health, and seamlessly supporting the 7000+ members. Non-profit accounting experience required, experience with ADP, Quickbooks, bill.com required.

Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: month end close, prepare and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statement reporting packages,
- Budgetary Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process; provide monthly Budget vs. Actual reports to leadership.
- Cash Management: Conduct cash flow analysis and maintain restricted net asset schedules to ensure donor-restricted funds are used appropriately.
- Investment Oversight: Reconcile monthly investment statements from AG Edwards and Morgan Stanley, posting details to the general ledger.
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, manage payments via Bill.com and reconcile credit card transactions.
- Accounts Receivable & Dues: Post deposits for all transactions and reconcile membership receipts to resolve any discrepancies.
- Payroll: Retrieve timecard info, prepare bi-weekly payroll, and manage employer/employee contributions.
- Compliance: Prepare workpapers for the annual financial statement audit and gather data for Federal Form 990, 1099, and 1096 filings
- Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience, specifically within a membership-based nonprofit (501c).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and advanced Excel.
